Princeton HealthCare System Golf Outing Raises $125,000 for New Hospital -- Largest Amount Ever Raised by the Annual Event --

PRINCETON, NJ (June 22, 2010) – The Princeton HealthCare System Foundation raised $125,000 at its annual golf outing last week – the most ever for the annual event, now in its 15th year.

All funds raised will go towards the “Design for Healing” campaign for the new University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro.

The event, held June 15 at Metedeconk National Golf Club in Jackson, attracted about 140 golfers and 50 sponsors.  Major sponsors included Connor Strong, an insurance, risk management and employee benefits brokerage and consulting firm; Air Con, Inc., an HVAC and plumbing company based in Mountainside; SEI Investments Company; and Turner Construction Company.

“Support for the new hospital is growing as the building takes shape,” said Tom Reilly, vice president at Turner Construction.  “The success of this year’s golf outing is another sign of the growing excitement in the community for what is sure to be one of the finest regional medical centers in the United States.”

The Design for Healing campaign has so far raised more than $110 million in support of the new University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro, which is expected to open in early 2012 as a replacement hospital for the current University Medical Center of Princeton. 

About the New Hospital
Located at the intersection of Route 1 and Scudders Mill Road in Plainsboro, University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro (UMCPP) will consist of approximately 630,000 square feet of interior space, with 237 single patient rooms, state-of-the-art emergency services, operating suites and a comprehensive array of ambulatory services and laboratories.  The hospital will occupy 50 acres and serve as the hub of a 160-acre Plainsboro Health Campus that will include, but not be limited to, uses for: medical offices, fitness and wellness, health education, assisted living residential, skilled nursing and rehabilitation, pediatric services and passive recreation in the form of a 32-acre public park along the Millstone River.
