Richard Wohl Named President of Princeton House Behavioral Health

Richard Wohl was named the first President of Princeton House Behavioral Health

PRINCETON, N.J. (May 20, 2013)—Richard Wohl, who led a remarkable expansion and diversification of services at Princeton House Behavioral Health (PHBH) during the past two decades, has been named the organization’s first president.

A unit of Princeton HealthCare System (PHCS), PHBH is a leading provider of highly skilled and compassionate behavioral healthcare services. Wohl has managed PHBH for the past 22 years as a senior vice president for PHCS. He will retain that title in addition to becoming president of PHBH.

PHCS President and CEO Barry S. Rabner noted that PHBH was serving approximately 80 patients at a single location when Wohl began managing its operations.

Today, PHBH serves 8,500 clients annually at seven locations—an inpatient facility in Princeton, five outpatient centers in southern and central New Jersey and the Center for Eating Disorders Care at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro (UMCPP).

PHBH also has developed an array of innovative programs, such as services for people who need both mental health and substance abuse treatment; the nationally recognized eating disorders program at UMCPP; a telepsychiatry program ensuring that PHBH psychiatrists are available at all hours via videoconferencing to evaluate the behavioral health needs of patients in the UMCPP Emergency Department; and specialized services tailored to children and adolescents, young adults, women, men who experienced past trauma, and older adults.

“Richard has assembled an outstanding administrative and clinical team and a strong physician team of 40 psychiatrists,” Rabner said. “Under his leadership, Princeton House has grown into a regional leader in mental health and addiction services.”
